From a child, I always loved the music of Dallas Holm. I remember hearing it over the stereo in my parent’s pale yellow Ford Fairmont station wagon on many a 3-hour drive to Raleigh to visit my grandparents. If it wasn’t Dallas Holm, it was a cassette of Keith Green, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Scott Wesley Brown, or the Imperials. Those were different days, back when Christian music was actually ministry and not merchandise. Of course, Rise Again, I Saw the Lord, and the narrative album His Last Days are true classics, but a lesser known ballad holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I heard it. As an adult, I have lived it . . .
Read MoreWhen the fulness of the time was come, the Word was made flesh: "God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons" (Galatians 4:4). Hallelujah, that is not manmade and dead religion!
Read MoreUndoubtedly, many of you heard or sang an old familiar carol by Isaac Watts at some point during this Christmastime: Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King . . . Do you realize that this song was not actually written about Jesus' birth but about His second coming? Just read the words of the verses. The world can get pretty sentimental about a little baby Jesus in a manger, but it despises any thought of His return, His reign, and His judgment. And, concerning these things, the churches can be so apathetic. Yet, praise be unto God: The Lord Jesus Christ WILL reign over this earth, both physically and bodily, a stone cut without hands that becomes a mighty mountain, grinding even the greatest of manmade kingdoms to wind-driven chaff (Daniel 2:34-35).
Read MoreAfter going to the Scripture about this matter with him, he committed to being baptized by immersion in obedience to God's command, "not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God" (I Peter 3:21). Later, we found a suitable place outside of the city, the same secret spot where some Buddhist monks had been baptized into the faith several years earlier.
Read MoreI just received a fascinating ministry report from Brother Bishnu in pdf format. We praise God for the bold Great Commission work that is being done there in Nepal; and we thank Him for the provision of the Jeep that some of you helped Full Proof Gospel Ministries to purchase several months ago.
Read MoreI am still trying to recuperate and adjust to this hot humidity in North Carolina after spending five weeks way down south in the middle of the austral winter. One afternoon, Ricky Springer and I were slogging along a deserted highway at 15,000 ft. on the Chile/Bolivia border in the face of snow flurries and an icy wind. Three days later, we were sweating it out on the tarmac in Miami, Florida.
Read MoreLet's praise God for what He has done these last couple of months in Nepal as we have strived to follow him fully. Also, we would like to thank you for holding the rope in prayer and through support of this frontline ministry at a far corner of the globe. Many thousands of the Gospel of John were given out with many thousands of other Gospel tracts. We traveled hundreds of miles in an old vehicle which finally died, having major engine problems. But, God helped us a lot and kept us safe.
Read MoreYes, God has chosen us and ordained us as His ambassadors in this corrupt and dying world. Oh, what a privilege it is to be His messengers! And so He provides for the fruit. God is so faithful that He always provides for His glory. That is what happened during the Far West Outreach back in December.
Read MoreDear praying saints, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let's praise God once again for answering our prayers and giving us other opportunities to proclaim the Crucified Christ here in Nepal. God is always good as He blotted our sins for His own sake. We really have an Amazing God!
Read MoreWith the onset of Fall, as is our custom, we will again be targeting university campuses, this time in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and Montana. In a few short days, Ricky Springer and I will be driving across the country to hook up with brethren who earlier this year partnered with us on the front lines in Nepal. As we labored alongside one another on the streets of Kathmandu and in Third World villages, God is allowing us to come together again to assail one of the most spiritually darkened settings in all of the world--the American college campus.
Read MoreThe work continues here in Nepal despite a plethora of difficulty and spiritual attack. Rolling blackouts are now at 14-hours per day here in Kathmandu. The temperature in our house hovers between 48-55 degrees Fahrenheit most of the day. Petrol and diesel shortages make for station queues FAR LONGER than Jimmy Carter’s gas lines. Hyperinflation continues to plunder our pockets. And, the desire to continue preaching the “glorious gospel of the blessed God” (I Timothy 1:11) to idolatrous ears (i.e. which are known to listen but never seem to change) wanes. I feel like Jonah sitting under the shadow of the gourd.
Read MorePARAMESHWAR (i.e. Nepali for “One True God”) IS NOT RELIGION . . . THE BIBLE IS NOT RELIGION . . . YESHU MASHIHA (Nepali for “Jesus the Messiah) IS NOT RELIGION . . . and so we continue to preach and declare openly here in Nepal and throughout South Asia. Thanks for all your prayers, and for those who have and continue to support us financially, the fruit is yours. You have sown; we are reaping; and the day comes when “both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together” (John 4:36).
Read MoreMalaysia and Indonesia are closed Muslim countries where problems can arise for believers that seek to preach the Gospel to Muslims. To protect the security of local believers and foreign workers with whom we labored, I will not mention names or other customary details. Nevertheless, know that the Word of God went forth boldly, and, as is FPGM’s practice, we pushed the envelope in terms of public proclamation.
Read MoreThere was a cold wind blowing through the sea of buildings as we stood preaching in New York City’s Union Square. Many people were out, and the riffraff had stirred up the crowd, mocking the Gospel and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Read MoreBack in May and June, we drove 6,692 miles, taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ all the way up through Quebec, across Labrador, down Newfoundland’s West Coast, over to Prince Edward Island, and back through New England with Bishnu Shrestha, FPGM’s national partner from Nepal. In my last update, I wrote of our adventures on the Labrador. Allow me to continue the tale.
Read MoreOver the next couple of email updates, I will attempt to recap what the Lord did this summer in Labrador & Newfoundland, up on Prince Edward Island, amongst Nepali communities here in the States, and in terms of local outreach. I pray these stories will edify and exhort unto steadfastness in the Gospel of Jesus Christ amidst perilous times about which the Scriptures forewarn (II Timothy 3:1-7; 4:1-5).
Read MoreIt has been six weeks since my daughter and I met up with Bishnu in Pennsylvania and headed north. A little over three weeks ago, we rendezvoused with my wife and remaining children in Canada’s Maritimes. A few short days ago, having added 6,692 miles to my vehicle’s odometer (900 miles of which were on gravel road), the Lord brought us safely home. Though hot and humid here in North Carolina, it’s good to be home. And, it’s sweet to reflect upon what the Lord has done and how He has answered your prayers and mine regarding another missionary journey to the end of the road, to uttermost corners.
Read MoreLord willing, Bethany and I will leave here on Wednesday morning, bound for New York City. There, I’ll pick up Bishnu, with Canadian visa, hopefully, in hand; and we’ll make a beeline north to Montreal and then up through Quebec City and along Route 389 to the Trans-Labrador Highway (approximately 700 miles of gravel that eventually intersects with the pavement along the Labrador Coast). All along the way, as our custom is, we’ll be seizing opportunity to proclaim Jesus Christ in the streets and lanes of the cities and the highways and hedges, distributing the Word of God and Gospel tracts unto another uttermost end of the road system.
Read MoreIn summary, this missionary journey (May 8-December 11) involved 4,208 miles of pedaling a bicycle for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ and 21,714 total miles of driving. Great strides were made towards FPGM’s goal of publicly taking the Gospel to the downtown streets of every significant city and town in America as 74 American cities and towns were targeted for outreach. In addition, 19 Canadian cities and towns were visited with the Gospel.
Read MoreGreetings brethren. Presently, I am nursing myself back to 100% and am quite confident that I can get back on the bicycle soon. To clear our heads, Ricky and I drove down here to Skagway, Alaska, hoping for some witnessing opportunities and a little respite back in our own country. Miraculously, my injuries after being run over by that ATV, were minor, as was the damage to the bicycle.
